Dave Matthews + Cost Segregation

Dave Matthews delivered an incredible show at Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC on Friday night… What a great show! Even though I am from his hometown in Virginia, I have to admit this was my first DMB concert. They did not disappoint.

DMB started on time at 8:00 PM, and played for 3 hours until just after 11:00 PM. No backup band. No intermission. Just pure music and entertainment. The only break was to set up the finale; when people hold up their lighters (well, cellphones these days) to bring the band back on stage. The two encore songs started with ‘Ant’s Marching’, one of his original big hits in 1994. Earlier in the show (spoiler alert if you plan on seeing this tour) they did a cover of Peter Gabriel’s ‘Sledgehammer’, a little taste further below…

So what does this have to do with Cost Segregation you ask? Not that much. Though you’re looking, and there’s a minor similarity in the final arrangement of the song or product. So keep reading…

How Dave Matthews Relates to Cost Segregation

From his roots at Miller’s on the downtown mall in Charlottesville, Dave Matthews has been a master at constructing and arranging different instruments to create a unique sound and product. On this Friday night, he incorporated an Alto Sax, Tenner Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet, various Electric Guitars, several 12-String Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, Bass Guitars, Keyboards, and a substantial Drum-kit percussion section. This, coupled with his vocals and singing style deliver his very distinctive sound, setting him apart from other bands.

Cost segregation, when done by ELB Consulting, is the forensic engineering process to fully deconstruct a commercial real estate property into its disparate component parts in order to deliver federal tax deductions and cash flow to the owner(s)/investor(S).

ELB’s Approach to Cost Segregation

ELB’s “fully engineered and accounted” report is sheet music symphony to the CPA. It allows them to report accurately to the IRS, be in full compliance with the Tangible Property Regulations, protect them from liability, and provide full asset detail on every accelerated and straight-line component of the building for future benefit and use. This attention to detail sets ELB apart from other firms.
